Inside Pensions has raised over £25,000 for charities since 2009. Every year, we continue the ‘making a difference’ theme, in raising money for a charity that in some way links to us either personally or professionally. In 2019, we have chosen to support Breathe Magic’s Intensive Therapy Foundation, a children’s foundation which helps young people combat the symptoms of Hemiplegia.
Breathe Magic’s Intensive Therapy Foundation is a clinically effective, fun and engaging approach to therapy. It’s designed to help young people with hemiplegia, a weakness or paralysis affecting one side of the body caused by an injury to the brain. Grounded in world-class medical research, this award-winning approach gives young people access to 78 hours of intensive therapy and transforms them into young magicians! Specialist occupational therapists work alongside Magic Circle magicians to teach magic tricks designed to develop hand and arm function, cognitive abilities, self-confidence and independence.
To kick off the year on 14th January 2019 we held a home baked Charity Afternoon Tea at our premises and welcomed friends and colleagues to join us meet the charity and understand its work. We raised over £300 on the day!
On Sunday 9th June 2019 our staff will be undertaking a sponsored walk of the London Bridges. Starting out in the beautiful Battersea Park, we will criss-cross 12 of London’s most iconic bridges and walk 10 miles for Breathe Magic. Passing Big Ben and the London Eye, we will catch a glimpse of St Paul’s as we cross Millennium Bridge, pass Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and finish the walk crossing the stunning Tower Bridge. All donations for Breathe Magic are warmly welcomed.

Push it for the Peace is back for a 4th year and it’s bigger and better than ever… and for some reason we are joining in… again! The epic 5 mile obstacle run is going to be bigger, better, muddier and wetter than ever before! Featuring a new 5 mile cross country route the course will have over 30 massive obstacles to climb, crawl, swing and splash through. Please help us beat our previous year’s donations totals to help towards the great work that the Peace Hospice delivers:
Push it For Peace
For the 2nd year running, Inside Pensions tackled the biggest, meanest and dirtiest obstacle run in Cassiobury Park on Saturday 20th September 2014. Last year we took on the 5 mile cross country route featuring a massive 34 obstacles. 2014 was set to be just as big with some exciting new obstacles and a new route alongside some of the old favourites. This year, with 36 obstacles, less swimming and more running the team certainly did Push It (and themselves!) For Peace! A huge congratulations to all that took part and managed to raise an impressive £5,000. An even bigger congratulations to The Peace Hospice for their continued efforts and hard work for those in need of their care.

Push it For Peace
In September 2013 Inside Pensions formed an elite team of athletes to tackle the, now infamous, obstacle course that is: Push It For Peace. This is a 5 mile, 32 obstacle, course organised and run by The Peace Hospice themselves. You can see our transition below from when we turned up in the morning, ready and raring to go – a little naïve perhaps at what was ahead – through to our soaked and very soar grimaces at the finish line! We completed the course in 1 hour 40 minutes, loved every second, and managed to raise another £1,000 for the Peace Hospice.

The Massive Ride
In June 2013 Ryan Powell of Inside Pensions and two friends cycled the entire length of Britain from John O Groats to Lands End to raise money for the amazing Peace Hospice in Watford. The route was just short of 1000 miles and they planned to cover this huge undertaking in just nine days. That equated to an average of over 100 miles cycling each day, with no planned days off the saddle!
Well done to Ryan Powell and team who successfully completed their John O Groats to Land’s End charity cycle ride in June 2013. At the end of August they were proudly presented and enjoyed their “big cheque moment”. A huge well done for raising £6,562.00.
