Pensions Projects

In our role as scheme secretary, we work closely with our clients on the regular business of ensuring pension schemes are run in an efficient way, with strong governance and controls. Outside the regular business of the trustee board, there are often special pension projects that need to be undertaken which require specialist skills. Our team includes pensions managers and consultants with different skills and so we are able to offer our expertise in a number of associated areas:

  • strategic and risk reviews
  • coordinating liability management solutions
  • pensions manager support
  • ad hoc trustee training
  • pension communications, such as drafting summary funding statements, report and accounts and member newsletters

Some of the team assist clients with third party adviser reviews, which trustees carry out on a rolling cycle, usually every three to five years. We have assisted clients with the following projects:

  • investment adviser reviews
  • third party administrator reviews
  • audit firm reviews
  • actuarial adviser reviews

Our knowledge of the pension marketplace has been built up over many years and we bring a rigour to the review process only available from independent specialists.

We have also helped companies/pension departments with other projects, including:

  • reviews of their in-house pension administration services
  • procurement of an outsourced administration provider (first time outsourcing)
  • procurement of a new outsourced administration partner
  • additional project resource to assist with transition projects
