In light of the harrowing media stories and global protests provoked by the senseless killing of African American George Floyd, we feel that it is crucial to publicly voice our support against this injustice. At Inside Pensions, we oppose racism and inequality in all of its forms, and actively look to promote and improve diversity within our company.
Inside Pensions operates a zero-tolerance policy against racism. We aim to provide our employees with strong guidance and education in relation to diversity, which focus on repairing harmful attitudes and behaviours, such as micro-aggressions in the workplace. Inside Pensions endeavours to create a harmonious working environment which is welcoming, supportive and mutually beneficial for all.
We have also taken this opportunity to reflect on the wider pensions industry. Recent statistics have revealed that there is a disproportionately low number of black and ethnic minority employees compared to their white counterparts, who form the majority of the industry workforce. Our Diversity Committee is currently working on a number of initiatives to advocate and catalyse change.
